Infused Gin & Tonic Workshop
A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to lead an infused gin & tonic workshop at SAP’s Potsdam office. I loaded up a carrier bag with funnels and a whole variety of herbs, spices, teas, and fruits and traveled out. Pro tip: the Friday mid-afternoon regional train from Alexanderplatz to Potsdam is jammed with people, but you can improve the surroundings by carrying a giant pot plant of mint in your arms.
Despite the drizzly grey afternoon, our workshop of 20 people had loads of fun! Everyone got to choose their own flavors to blend, then taste each others’ creations. I explained a basic background of flavor compounds in gin as well as recipe development. Judging by the ingredients left over, raspberries and rosemary were the most popular ingredients chosen. It was the ideal way to end a busy week, with a little fun, creativity, and a personalized G&T in hand.
I would love to lead more of these workshops in the future and am currently planning a few others using different base spirits (hello, rum!). If you’d like to collaborate, get in touch!
